President Bush openly talked about his past alcohol addiction during his interview with ABC News.
He explained, “I doubt I’d be standing here if I hadn’t quit drinking whiskey, and beer and wine and all that.” President Bush made the decision to give up his drinking on his 40th birthday.

His intention for the interview was to encourage young people at the White House who had come for an event to help stop alcohol and drug addiction in their communities.

How long should you stay in a drug rehab center? What is the right length of time of stay?

There are two important things that have to be accomplished in a drug rehab. One is to stay long enough to learn the skills that you need to help you through tough times. Second, get a good enough period of clean time before you leave. The longer you stay the better off you will be. This is why longer programs tend to have better success rates than others. Just remember that we learn things at a certain rate. So take your time and don’t take short
cuts.

We need to let go of our addictions. Some of us hold on to them because they are fun and they make us happy. Our soul is free when we give up our addictions and we will be much happier.
